Wetenschapsdag voor mensen met type 1 diabetes
(LEUVEN BELGIUM) - local Belgian event

Every year, the Hippo & Friends type 1 diabetes fund organises a science day for people with type 1 diabetes, in cooperation with UZ/KULeuven. For known reasons, this event had to take place virtually, yet remained a very interesting occasion. Guest speaker was Prof. Jeroen Raes who talked about the importance of the gut flora in health and disease. In addition, we looked at the future for people with type 1 diabetes in the field of diabetes technologies and young researchers presented their scientific research into various aspects of this chronic disease.
